Inspection Service In Ocala, FL
When an Insurance company or Lender asks for a Tie-down inspection on a mobile home, they are asking for all the components and strapping that goes from the mobile home to the ground for stability.
This type of inspection needs to be done by us, with our connections, or a Structural Engineer. Having it done by Assured Home Inspections will certainly save you money. VHA-FHA and other Private Lenders will ask for this.
The thing that realtors usually don’t know is that they will also need an Add-On inspection if there is one on the mobile home. Unfortunately, many realtors don’t ask the lender, so it is asked for after the fact by the lender, which costs the buyer twice the cost.
We have explained this to many realtors, and they have denied the inspection only to have it requested later. It will save you if you inform us that you have added a room, front porch, or a car port. These are add-ons and they cannot be connected Directly to your home.
We can explain what to do if you have this, and how you can remedy this, so that you can pass the inspection when it comes due. These added rooms or roofs must have a support system consisting of a beam and side supports to carry the weight on its own. This has to be inspected and signed off from a Structural Engineer as a mobile home was not designed for the extra weight. We can do this.
Call us for concerns or questions on what to do to remediate this and help you pass inspection. Yes, you must be prepared to do some carpentry work for yourself or hired out. Most of the time, it is not highly expensive. Be prepared before the inspection.
